People living in Islamabad are considered the most decent and civilized citizens of Pakistan. Yet they are also judged and perceived as a group of people. It is worldwide assumed that the place and its environment where people belong to have a huge effect on their personality and approach. Given the mythology of people belonging from a certain place, there are some perceptions that are made about Islamabadians.
1. Attitude problems
Islamabadians are perceived with attitude problems. Although there is no such real prove or rationale behind it. People belonging from various cities of Pakistan when faced by Islamabadians, they assume that they (Islamabadians) might not like to respond or talk back when talked to them.
2. The underwhelmed Hospitality
People from all over the world have their own customs and ways of greeting natives depending on their values and cultural differences. On those grounds, their affection is judged. Even though like other various citizens, Islamabadians have their own way of greeting. However they feel hesitant to welcome people in intimate gestures, as a courtesy call to avoid an uncomfortable situation for the other one. Hence they are assumed cold at Hospitality.
3. Majority in service Sector
Islamabad is considered the city of services sector, reason being its majority of offices in service sector choose the Capital as a best location. However 90% of people living in Islamabad are assumed to be in service sector. While this is not the case, there are many big and small business concerns running in Islamabad on entrepreneurial as well as partnership basis.
4. Burger Kids
The term “Burger Kids” is derived (assume fully) especially for kids belonging to sissy families of Islamabad. They are perceived coward and chicken. They are also addressed as “Mommy Daddy Bacha”. It is assumed they are way too naive to take decisions on their own, hence they rely on their mommy and daddy all the time.
Again this is an assumption and has nothing to do with Islamabadians specifically. Neither does this group belong to Islamabad individually. Let’s take it this way; those obedient kids are the best in the world as they are submissive and respectful for their parents.
5. Brand Freaks
Another perception that has been made about Islambadians is that 90% of them are brand freaks and always shop from branded shops. Again this is just a myth, which is evident by many local markets in Islamabad, and the crowd you see there on visiting them.
